HSMC has been in business for almost thirty years and is now one of New England's oldest and one of its largest Central Monitoring Stations - with a broad-based regional clientele - and with a presence throughout the United States.

Tom and Carole Trowbridge founded Home Security and Management Company of Stowe, Vermont in 1975.  Before that time, Mr. Trowbridge had a career in law enforcement in Ohio, which was later continued in Vermont.  Subsequently, they both spent several years developing and running a small alarm monitoring and property management business for a local real estate company. Eventually, they decided to create a similar enterprise and formed their own company.

Home Security has been fortunate enough to assemble a knowledgeable staff of competent and dedicated personnel, through whose efforts the company has realized many of its goals. One of these goals was to evolve into a state-of-the-art facility with a UL Rating. This was accomplished in 1991.  HSMC subsequently upgraded its rating to UL Fire.

We are not an answering service, an installation company, or an equipment distributor. Therefore, we can focus 100% of our attention strictly to monitoring your accounts.

We continually try to position ourselves for all advancements within the security industry - by upgrading to technologically exceptional alarm receiving equipment whenever necessary and by acquiring robust computer programs whose functionality will provide scalability and growth.

As HSMC contemplated the future, we understood that as our business grew, our physical plant would have to be upgraded. With this in mind, we planned a newer, larger and more technologically sophisticated facility, which we moved into in the Fall of 2003. Now we can provide even better service and more security solutions throughout the coming years.
